It Happened

So I feel like the worst mother in the world, but I am trying to move on. Last night I forgot about my sweet little Sarah! I didn't leave her at a store or anything, but we all went to Costco and then pulled into the garage. I got out and had my arms full of mostly garbage and some other stuff so I went inside and up to the kitchen to put it away. On my way down I saw Grace coming up the stairs and told her to get pajamas on. I went out to the garage and Jamie said he had the rest of the groceries. So I shut the garage door and went and switched the laundry and took it upstairs to fold. I thought I heard someone in Sarah's room on the monitor downstairs in the office so I thought it was Sarah looking for pajamas. I sat there doing laundry while Jamie went to the bathroom and Grace was getting pajamas. It wasn't until Grace came into our family room and asked, "Where's Sarah?" Jamie and I looked at each other and then ran down to the garage. I had just assumed he got her out when we got Grace out and he assumed that when I came back downstairs I was coming to get her! Poor thing was hysterical strapped into her carseat in a dark garage! I felt horrible. When I was pregnant with Grace I had all sorts of dreams that I was leaving her at stores and always forgetting her. I was pleased that was not the case when I became a mother, but it finally happened. I forgot one of my children. So don't judge me too harshly because I feel awful. The nice thing is though that kids are so quick to forgive! In no time she was laughing and playing with me, even though I still had so much guilt!

Star Speaker

Today at school Grace is one of the Star Speakers which means she made a poster of a lot of her favorite things. This included Utah Gymnastics, Lots of Princess stuff, pictures of her family, and a picture of her in her crocodile rock costume from her dance performance last year. I am not sure what pose she is doing here, but Grace always poses when taking a picture. Grace also chose to have her hair done in her LONG braids. I love this little girl, and hope that someday soon she will have some nice braids! It was fun making this poster with her, I only wish that I could hear her talk about it at school!

My little helper!

So this weekend was kind of a busy one for me, I had a teacher appreciation activity on saturday at my house for the primary teachers and then on sunday I had to speak, then give sharing time and then we had a trek family reunion at our house that night! Plus I had a meeting to go to. But anyway, enough complaining. This is a picture of Grace helping me clean the house. On the way home from school she kept telling Jenny, who was driving the carpool, that she needed to get her home so she could help me with Sarah and help me clean! Now I had already cleaned the mirror, but I heard water running and came in to see what was going on and found Grace washing the window with a rag that had hand soap all over it. I just said Thank you! She then repeated this help on Sunday for me. I do love that she likes to help! It will be nice though when she is old enough for it to really help, of course by then se probably won't want to!

What Color are you?

Take this test!

You're blue — the most soothing shade of the spectrum. The color of a clear summer sky or a deep, reflective ocean, blue has traditionally symbolized trust, solitude, and loyalty. Most likely a thoughtful person who values spending some time on your own, you'd rather connect deeply with a few people than have a bunch of slight acquaintances. Luckily, making close friends isn't that hard, since people are naturally attracted to you — they're soothed by your calming presence. Cool and collected, you rarely overreact. Instead, you think things through before coming to a decision. That level-headed, thoughtful approach to life is patently blue — and patently you!
