Resolutions

So I do enjoy this time of year. A time for reflection, to think about what I can do better. The only prob lem is I never take the time to do this! Whenever I get a minute to myself I usually try and sleep. So I am trying to take a minute and think of 5 things to focus on for this year.
1. The never ending goal of getting in shape. I started going to the gym this week and already feel better about myself. I hope I can continue this.
2. Be better with my money. I kind of like to just spend whatever money I have. With the economy in the state that it's in, it has made me think that I should really try and be better at not doing this.
3. What's that saying "Don't sweat the small stuff?" This is one of my goals for 2009. Sometimes I tend to get a little worked up over things that don't really matter. I think my children usually get the worst of this. I am going to try to remember that there are only a few things worth getting worked up at.
4. Read my scriptures and write in a journal. I don't know what has happened to me, I have been horrible at reading my scriptures and have not written in a journal since I got married. YIKES! This must change.
5. Think more of others. I have a tendency to get very wrapped up in my own life. Sometimes though I will have a thought of something I should do for someone, and then usually just don't get around to it. So I am going to try and have more of these thoughts for what I can do for others, and when I have them, DO THEM!

I obviously have more things to work on than just these five, but this is where I will start. Do you have any resolutions?

Give me some SUGAR!

We were lucky enough to go see the Utes dominate Alabama in the Sugar bowl. It was the first time Jamie and I had ever been to New Orleans and it really was such a fun trip. We spent a lot of time in the french quarter, ate amazing food, visited a plantation, walked along the river walk, enjoyed famous beignets, watched many street performers, and saw great local art work. Not to mention the great football game we watched! I was not very good at taking pictures, but here are a few. We took Abi but left Grace and Sarah with my mom for part of the time and with their cousins for the rest. Big thanks to David and Denae for taking care of 5 kids under the age of 5! This is where Abi spent most of her trip. In the stroller. She did so well, I really couldn't have asked for more!
Here we are outside the plantation.

This is how Abi enjoyed the game. They gave out these pom poms and Abi was very appreciative.

Here we are with Jamie's parents. See Abi is still enjoying the pom pom.

Here Jamie and I are at the pep rally. It was really fun, and packed full of utah fans.

Christmas recap

We had a very good Christmas this year. Every year brings new things with these little ones. Last year was the really the first year Grace got the whole Santa idea. That was so much fun. This year she really got the purpose for giving. Each year we have our kids pick out their own presents for Jamie and I, their grandparents, and their siblings and cousins. This is more for my sake than anything, but here is what the girls picked out.
Grandma Stewart- cookie cutters. this was cute because the girls love to make cookies with grandma stewart
Grandpa Stewart- a new drink mug. Ever since I can remember my dad has carried around diet soda in a big mug. When Grace saw one of these at the store she knew her grandpa would like it.
Grandma Pruden- a shiny purple more traditional mug. Grace and Sarah know that their grandma pruden shares their love of the color purple and knew she would love this gift.
Grandpa Pruden- a superman foot mat for his car. Awhile ago at some festivle grandpa had his bald head painted with the superman logo. Grace remembering this knew this was the perfect gift.
Jamie- Sarah got Jamie a blanket. This is Sarah's most important possesion, so naturally she wanted to give Jamie the same.
Grace got Jamie a tie for his "bishopricing" as she says. She knows how important it is for her dad to spend time at the church.
Brittany- Sarah got me some pink shoes, and Grace got me a new coat. I think what I take from this is that even my children are noticing that I desperately need some new clothing!
Grace got Sarah a barbie to take in the bathtub because Sarah has been jealous of Grace's for quite some time now.
Sarah got Grace some little tiger toys because she knows how much Grace likes to have animal toys.
Sorry that was a bit long. But that truly was the best part of my Christmas. Seeing my girls be so excited to GIVE their presents.
Here are a few pictures!
Here is a picture of Sarah and I during some present opening.

I just love this picture of Jamie and Abi!
Here is how Abi enjoyed her Christmas, by eating things.
